The aim of the project is to transform biological waste accumulating in Leipzig into energy at a biomass power plant with the following benefits:

• Possible cost-cutting for Leipzig residents
• Creation of jobs in a modern biogas plants, the construction of the first biogas plant in Leipzig, and reinforcing Leipzig's ecological credentials
• Making efficient use of domestic biological waste in order to protect the environment and implement the desired combination of renewable energies
• Making refuse collection and disposal in Leipzig more cost-effective
