Energy-efficient City

'Energy-efficient city' is a joint project by the City of Leipzig, the Office for Economic Development, the Fraunhofer Central and Eastern Europe Centre and the University of Leipzig with the Department of Industrial Information Systems at the Institute of Computer Science as well at the Institute of Urban Development and Construction Management.

The aim of the project is to draw up an innovative integrated implementation strategy for an 'energy-efficient city of Leipzig' taking account of demographic change.

An inner-city borough has been chosen as a model district.

The first project phase will last twelve months.
