Expert Meeting 2008

Expert meeting 2008 The expert meeting on energy at Villa Ida Media Campus in Leipzig was held on 11 December 2008. It was hosted by the city's Department of Economic Affairs and Labour and opened by Deputy Mayor Uwe Albrecht.

Held under the banner 'Exploding energy prices - curse or blessing for Central Germany?', top-level speakers reported the latest findings on topical issues like energy strategies, biomass, alternative propulsion, logistics and energy-trading.

Energy is a topic which is becoming increasingly important for society - and the development of future strategies is therefore crucial. This includes expanding existing networks - and the players from the Leipzig region are already working together in the Power & Environment Cluster. The main themes at the conference were cooperation between the private sector and local research centres and ways in which medium-sized enterprises in the energy sector can be supported.
